Make the most of AMP Summit
We are excited that you will be attending the full day of programming today at the Newseum. We wanted to provide a detailed-packed post to help you prepare for the big day.
Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:00 am. You need to enter the Newseum at the 6th Street entrance. We will have signage directing you to the 7th floor where you will register, enjoy a breakfast spread catered by Wolfgang Puck and meet with exhibitors (and collect swag). Don’t forget to check in on Gowalla, Facebook Places and foursquare.
We will promptly begin the program at 9:00 am with a quick video by AMP media partner — the super talented The Duke & the Duck — about the history in innovation and communication. From that point, we will dive head first into our morning keynote. We recommend you review the program and plan your itinerary in advance.
All keynote sessions, and breakfast and lunch will be held on the 7th floor. The breakout sessions will be divided into three tracks: persuasion brought to you by AOL Huffington Post Media Group, activation brought to you by Microsoft & engagement. Breakout sessions will be held on the 8th floor of the Newseum. You can familiarize yourself with the layout of the summit here: http://ampsummit.com/ampsummitlayout/
Naturally, we will have Wi-Fi at the Newseum so you’re not slowed down in sharing your experience at AMP and responding to important emails. The network username and password will be provided to you at registration and listed on table tents throughout the conference. Microsoft is hosting an attendee lounge on the 7th floor where you can make phone calls, do some work and power-up, if needed. A private speaker lounge will be located on the 8th floor.
If you’re tweeting about the summit, be sure to include the hashtag #ampsummit. Tonight we are launching the AMP Summit TweetLounge — a Twitter live-stream dedicated to the conversation happening at the conference. All tweets including #ampsummit will be featured in the live-stream on http://ampsummit.com.
Media partner Holler is providing a simple service for iPhone users for connecting around the great content, sessions and attendees at our event. Whether you want to connect during or after AMP Summit, Holler will help you stay up to date on what’s going on. You can download the application here: http://holler.com/amp.
After the last keynote talk, buses will begin to transport attendees and speakers at 5:15 pm from the Newseum to L2 Lounge in Georgetown for the AOL Huffingpost Media Group headline party.
Most importantly, come to AMP Summit with an open mind. You will meet people like you that are interested in discussing how the Internet and technology have forever changed the worlds of activism + media + policy. Share your thoughts and listen to what they have to say.
While at the conference, if you have questions please look for individuals wearing “staff” badges or tweet @AMPSummit.
We’ll see you at the Newseum.
